Cont From Above Post
India’s relationship with its neighboring countries in the past has had mixed sentiments as the previous UPA Government, led by Congress could not provide stability to its directives and Foreign Policy objectives. May be, they lacked will to lead or was always in some state of appeasement, in context of Pakistan, and undefined relationship with Nepal, Myanmar and Sri Lanka. Bhutan remained neutral and so did Bangladesh. However, the relationship was more of an offshoot of SAARC priorities than anything else. India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Maldives, Pakistan and Sri Lanka being the member countries of SAARC. Though with many similarities, these neighbors also contested for demographic differences, cultural diversities, religious fabric, political vibrancies, and ethnic settlements. The vast challenge that always confronted India was the dangerous sentiments voiced by few neighbors from
time to time, which the previous Government had no answers.
Adamancy of territorial disputes with China and Pakistan and to a certain extent eco-political differences with Myanmar never let the region live peacefully. Soon after the downfall of Colonial regime, the region witnessed extensive nuclear rivalry, militancy, insurgency and religious fanaticism. Secularism, Liberalism and Fundamentalism crossing all the limits. Even as of now, the air hasn’t changed much, but the Influential Leadership of Narendra D Modi, the PM of India, has to a large extent slowed the uncontrollable and set in a motion of interstate harmony and peace in the region. However, China and Pakistan are still playing villainous role as ever.
It’s a paradox, even though SAARC is 30 years old now, the integration among the member countries is far from being normal. Had India and PM Modi, not been a part of SAARC, disintegration was inevitable.

India’s relationship with two of its troubled neighbors namely Pakistan and China has taken an enormous hit, thanks to the mishandling of bilateral issues by the previous UPA leadership. While many UPA's political giants continued to consolidate their personal positions, the nation was thrown into a well of turmoil. Regional Political parties added problems rather that any benefit. All these issues have now been brought under the strategic umbrella and set into a inclusive development and a progressive motion. It’s the BJP’s strong political will, vision for a powerful nation, national integration and concept of spiritual global ‘Guru’ has characterized India, a magnificent Nation.
